Off the chart vintage pin-up swimsuit which we believe is by Rose Marie Reid due to the attention to detail on this spectacular bathing suit. It is from the early to late 1940s to very early 1950s with waterproof lining on the bust area and hook and eyes behind a metal zipper. We are leaning more towards the 40s due to library and internet research through old ads and catalogs. This suit has an hourglass shape with foldover detailing on the bust, a tailored midsection and fabulous ruching on the bottom front, sides and bottom. If you're a little flat on the rear, this will give you a little subtle yet sexy addition to that area. If you have a nice rear end, it only accentuates it more without making it too poofy. The measurements are Bust to 34, Waist to 24/25, Hips to 38 - these are the stretched dimensions so it will fit from a size 0/2 to small/petite 6. The suit is in fabulous overall condition with some seams pulling and showing the pull primarily when stretched. The only other issue we noticed is the optional neck strap which is made out of elastic band, is that the end has shredded. This is an extremely simple fix. This is suitable to wear or use for study/pattern making as this style is so fresh and hip that it fits right in today. It is a rare timeless classic and the nicest pinup suit we've seen to date.
