Early vintage Israel Jerusalem hand carved olive wood bead prayer beads or rosary with unique carved cross. The beads on this strand are hand hewn in a kind of semi bicone shape but fatter. The beads measuring around 17.27 x 17 mm and are strung on silk twine. They are beautifully carved with the lovely wood grain showing superbly. Rare huge example of finely made beads that are outstanding in hand. This came from an estate and were purchased for $125 back in the 50s, they still have the original tag on them.
